Canyonview Ranch Hand Program

Teen Volunteers | Ages 15–17

Do you love Jesus, horses, and serving others? The Ranch Hand Program is a unique opportunity for teens to grow in faith, horsemanship, and leadership while helping create an unforgettable camp experience for younger riders.

Ranch Hands serve alongside our equestrian staff, learning responsibility, teamwork, and horse care while mentoring campers.

Program Focus

Our goal is to help each Ranch Hand grow in three key areas:

Faith
Grow deeper in your relationship with Christ through Bible studies, devotions, and Scripture memorization.

Horsemanship
Develop practical horse knowledge through weekly riding lessons, horsemanship workshops, and hands-on horse care.

Leadership
Build integrity, responsibility, and communication skills while assisting with campers and equestrian activities.

Ranch Hand Responsibilities

  • Attending staff meetings

  • Helping instructors during arena lessons

Ranch Hand Testimonials

The most rewarding way to spend a summer is taking the time to learn about God, horses, and yourself. After a few weeks as a Ranch Hand, you’ll learn more than you ever expected. Your priorities change, your thinking becomes more defined, and you gain confidence in ways you never imagined. Whenever you struggle, there are people to support and love you. I loved it!
There is so much wrapped up in being a Ranch Hand that I hardly know where to begin. It stretches you and makes you grow in your confidence, horsemanship, perseverance and your spiritual walk.  There are late nights, early mornings, and long hot days but God’s strength is sufficient. It is so amazing to see God at work in my life as well as in the lives of the other staff and campers around me. Ranch Hands work hard, are poured into, through seminars, Bible Studies, prayer and riding lessons, and learn how to love and be loved as Christ called us to. I praise God for this opportunity for the wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ I have worked with here!

Other Programs

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
- Romans 12:1-2
